Getting a Clean Dishwasher

by Theresa
(London, Ontario)

There is an easy and environmentally friendly way to have a clean, fresh-smelling dishwasher...

1. To get rid of any stains, make a paste out of baking soda and hydrogen peroxide. Scrub gently with a soft cloth or sponge. The baking soda is just abrasive enough to get rid of most stains easily.

2. As the finishing step to a clean dishwasher interior, once you have removed any stains, put a cup of white vinegar in the bottom of the dishwasher.

Turn it on and run through the cycles without any dishes.

Once the dishwasher has started the final rinse cycle, open and add another cup of white vinegar.

Let the cycle finish and you should have an odor-free and clean dishwasher.
